Best Paper Award

Clinical Anatomy, with support from our publisher, Wiley, will present an award for “Best Paper.”  Out of all papers published in the prior calendar year, one paper will receive this distinguished award along with $1,000.

2018 Best Paper Award Winner: Brandon Michael Henry

"Consensus guidelines for the uniform reporting of study ethics in anatomical research within the framework of the anatomical quality assurance (AQUA) checklist."

Brandon is a postdoctoral fellow in the cardiac intensive care unit at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he performs clinical and translational research focused on improving patient outcomes and studying the immune response in critically ill children with complex congenital heart diseases. Brandon carried out his MD and PhD studies at the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow. During this time, he co-founded the International Evidence-Based Anatomy Working Group and published over 50 manuscripts in this field. He also led the development of the Anatomical QUality Assurance (AQUA) Guidelines, which was formally endorsed by the Federative International Committee for Scientific Publications (FICSP) of the IFAA. As a physician-scientist, Brandon plans to continue his anatomical research in the fields of pediatric anatomy, dysmorphology, and congenital malformations, while pursuing a clinical career in pediatrics/genetics & genomics, with a focus on critically ill children. Brandon was born in Niagara Falls, New York, USA and enjoys adventure traveling and water sports in his free time.
