Transportation
Tulsa International Airport (TUL) is located 8 miles northeast of downtown Tulsa. The Hyatt Regency Tulsa offers 24-hour complimentary airport transportation (call the hotel operator at 918-582-9000 when you arrive). Taxis ($25), Uber, and Lyft ($15) are the fastest options. Renting a car is very convenient and driving is easy in Tulsa. The airport supports all the usual rental car companies. The hotel provides self-parking or valet parking at reasonable rates.

If you arrive by car, Tulsa is on historic Route 66, which mostly parallels I-44, connecting from Oklahoma City, 110 miles Southwest, or Saint Louis 400 miles Northeast. Dallas is 260 miles South on US Highway 75. Most of the local attractions are easily accessible by car, bus, walking, scooters, or biking.
Tulsa has a bike-sharing program with many relay bike stands throughout downtown and surrounding areas. While $2 buys one 30-minute ride, $10 buys 3 days of unlimited 30-minute rides. Just grab a bike from a kiosk and ride to your destination near another kiosk. For the return trip, get another bike. Maybe you should bring your helmet.
For the young and young-at-heart, Lime and Bird electric scooters are ubiquitous in Tulsa. A helmet seems to be a good idea for these too.
Tulsa Transit is the local public transit system (busses only). It provides convenient and inexpensive transportation to some, but not all, venues in Tulsa. A 2-hour unlimited-ride pass costs $1.75. However, 1-day and 7-day passes are available for only $3.75 and $14, respectively. You can buy passes on any bus, but you will need exact change. I’ll comment on whether busses are a good option for the venues in the “Points-of-Interest” section. If you use the bus, download ETA SPOT to your smartphone so you can track the busses in real time. I also like the way that Google Maps helps you plan bus trips that include busses.
FYI, to efficiently navigate downtown Tulsa you need to know about the Inner Dispersal Loop (IDL). It is the 2.5-mile length of freeway that encloses the downtown area.
